British Comedian of The Year 2022

It's the FA Cup Of Comedy!!

The British comedian of the year competition has the biggest prize in Uk comedy, a whopping £10,001 prize to the winner.

Heats are taking place all over the country with the finals being held at the world famous comedy store in London. 

This year we have been lucky enough to secure a heat for this competition at the Princess Pavilion, Falmouth.

Each heat is judged by you the audience! Your votes decide who goes through to the final!

Expect to see the very best in UK comedy battle it out to win a place in the finals and possibly win themselves a huge cheque for £10,001.

THE LINE UP

Alf: A gloriously silly and hilarious one-liner prop comic. A multitude of achievements under his belt including: ‘So You Think You're Funny' finals in Edinburgh, “Standup for Cider” competition winner. In 2018 he auditioned for Britains Got Talent at the London Palladium and received a Standing Ovation from the Judges and the Audience and in 2019 he was a finalist in the UK Pun Championships and the World One Liner Championships. Unmissable.

Anna Keirle: Anna is the comedy circuit's best kept secret. Multi-award winning with almost 20 years experience, she's a Cornish bumpkin with funny in her veins. First seen on the Russel Brand Show (Channel 4), she has gone on to win Riviera Comedian of the Year and a finalist in 'So you think you're funny?', Funny Women, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Kings of Comedy (Channel 4)!

Kev Mud: After a life of living on and off the streets, Kev is now hiding away in a caravan on a sheep field. Surreal, warm and cuddly, but with a sharp edge. He's only been going for a few months but has already graced stages from Falmouth to London to Glastonbury alongside acts from Mock The Week, QI and Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

Sarita Hunt: Sarita Hunt, a born and bred Cornish maid, her comedy is based on her intriguing journey of a life’s of ups and downs, she will take you on a journey to see the lighter side of some dark life experiences adding in the fascinating world of being a transgender woman in a small town.

MC - Matt Price: Matt Price is known for having some of the most extraordinary and outrageous stories drawn from the wilder side of life. Hailing from Cornwall; he brings true warmth and heart to the stage whilst finding some audacious laughs in the most unexpected places.

 Despite the occasional misadventure on his travels Matt continues to work internationally and has worked in Eastern and Central Europe, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, South East Asia, Turkey, Australia and Scandinavia.

 He is a very skilled act, in demand at comedy clubs and his versatility has also made him be chosen as a tour support for acts such as Russell Kane, Stephen K Amos and Norman Lovett.

 His critically acclaimed solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival have also see Matt weaving his own amazing true tales into astonishing and very funny hour long solo shows.
